Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Alliance Shippers Inc., a leading provider of global logistics services, announced that it has received a prestigious industry award for quality service and customer satisfaction.

Alliance Shippers Inc. is the winner of the Gold Medal for Intermodal Marketing Companies in Logistics Management Magazine’s Quest for Quality survey of transportation and logistics services providers. The award is the culmination of a six-month research project conducted by Peerless Research Group.

As companies wrestle with today’s array of complex challenges ranging from e-commerce distribution and fulfillment to demands for supply chain speed and agility, Alliance Shippers Inc. continues to deliver answers.

The 2019 Top 100 3PL Providers were selected from a pool of more than 300 companies, and Alliance Shippers Inc. qualified “because its solutions create cost savings and efficiencies” that impact the entire value chain.

In addition, Alliance Shippers Inc. “continues to provide the logistics, transportation, and supply chain solutions” needed “to achieve the speed, visibility, flexibility and control that drives successful supply chains,” Stratton added.

Alliance Shippers Inc. Welcomes New Sales Manager

Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Alliance Shippers Inc.,a leading provider of global logistics services, is pleased to announce the addition of Todd Sweders to the Chicago Regional Sales Team.
With nearly a decade of transportation experience, Todd brings with him the ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers from various manufacturing industries. Positions he previously held include Director of Strategic Sales and Director of Operations.

Sweders will be managing, recruiting and directing the Alliance Shippers Inc. Chicago Regional sales force in line with Alliance Shippers’ expansion of its market share and presence in the Midwest region.

“Todd’s background in highway brokerage enables him to seamlessly integrate his skill set into growing our company’s over-the-road business as well as building on the strong intermodal space Alliance Shippers Inc. currently occupies.” said Larry Henry, VP of Logistics & Special Projects. “We are pleased to have Todd as part of our leadership team.”

Sweders holds a degree in Journalism from Columbia University and an advanced degree in law from DePaul University. His journalism background allows for superior communication skills, while his Juris Doctorate provides a grounded common sense perspective in his sale approach. Todd will be based out of the Orland Park, IL office.

Alliance Shippers Inc. Honored as Green Supply Chain Partner Once Again

Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Alliance Shippers Inc., a leading provider of global logistics services, has been selected as a 2019 Green Supply Chain Partner — a distinction reserved for industry leaders in sustainability initiatives. Alliance Shippers Inc. has received this honor yearly since 2013.

“We are constantly striving to move in the direction of clean, green transportation solutions,” said Larry Henry, VP of Logistics & Special Projects at Alliance Shippers Inc., “and this honor is a testament to that sustainable mindset.”

As part of the company’s multi-pronged efforts, Alliance Shippers Inc. has equipped its fleet of over 2,100 CARB compliant 53’ refrigerated trailers with two-way cellular tracking devices that draw power from a battery source located within the units.
This enables not only GPS tracking but also temperature adjustment and the ability to turn units on or off at any time. In addition, solar panels on the trailer rooftops continuously charge the batteries, which reduces fuel consumption and emissions.

Applying these advanced technologies to its refrigerated fleet allows Alliance Shippers Inc. to move customer cargo using the nation’s railroad system, which reduces CO² emissions by approximately 67% when compared to transporting those same goods via highway trucks.

Those selected for Inbound Logistics’ annual G75, a curated list of 75 companies, “go above and beyond to help shippers maintain sustainable, eco-friendly supply chain operations,” according to the publication. “These companies have spent years developing and implementing best practices to ensure the footprint they leave on the world is a positive one.”
