Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Alliance Shippers Inc. is taking this opportunity to acknowledge the great service being provided by our hundreds of vendors and employees on the front lines. It’s a good bet that “coronavirus” or Covid-19 was a word that none of us had in our vocabulary just a few weeks ago. Today we are haunted by the word. Each of us go to bed at night with Covid-19 worries on the brain and wake up from a mostly sleepless night, hoping the whole mess was just a bad nightmare.

Whatever small amount of comfort you get from Alliance’s acknowledgment of your personal situation, your family’s situation, your communities’ situation, please know that we are sincerely appreciative of your courageous battle. Without the supply chain’s brave and dedicated work force, our Country would not be able to provide the goods and products we so desperately need. Calling transportation companies “essential” falls short of what we really do on a daily basis for our Country. Yes we are “essential” but we are in fact absolutely critical to our Nation in keeping our population safe, healthy and fed.

Keeping Our Alliance Shippers Inc. Family And Community Safe (COVID-19)

Englewood Cliffs, NJ — As the COVID-19 situation develops across the country, we want to assure our employees, our customers, and our community of the steps we have already taken in our business preparedness plan. We immediately assembled our Executive Team to begin a plan of action for our company. On both our International and Domestic divisions, we understand the important role that we play in the management of our customer’s import, export and other important transportation needs. We would like to share with you some steps with you that we are taking.

Our Executive Team is monitoring the most up to date information from public health and government agencies on an ongoing basis. We are also working with information from hospitals and health care providers.

Immediately an Executive Team was assembled 100% dedicated to formulating a response to the COVID-19 outbreak without a service interruption to our customers. This Team is constantly monitoring the situation, adjusting where necessary, and using the most up to date information from public health and government agencies to guide us.

As our employees interact with customers and the general public, we have taken steps to limit exposure to the virus. We have put restrictions on travel, postponing large-scale events, limiting the size of meetings, providing remote-work solutions, and continue to reinforce safe behavior in every environment – customer meetings, office visits, ramped up daily deep-cleaning initiatives using sanitizers and protective supplies are a few of many prioritizing steps. Additionally, we have protocols in place limiting access into our office, and adequately spaced work stations.

We are in continuous communication about good hygiene, providing our employees with tips on maintaining ways to avoid the virus, and support whenever needed. Plans for employees who feel ill are told to not report to work and immediately communicate with their personal physician so that they get the care necessary.

Alliance Shippers Inc. Receives EPA’s SmartWay Excellence Award for the Second Time

Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Alliance Shippers Inc., a leading provider of global logistics services, announced it has been honored with a SmartWay Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency.

Alliance Shippers Inc. was one of 17 shippers and logistics firms to receive this distinction, representing the best environmental performers of SmartWay’s 3,700 Partners. The 2019 award winners were honored at the American Trucking Associations Management & Exhibition Annual Conference held in San Diego, California on October 7.

“This year, the U.S. EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership is recognizing 13 shippers and four third-party logistics providers as recipients of the 2019 SmartWay Excellence Award,” said EPA’s Director of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality, Sarah Dunham. “These awardees are the top two percent of environmental performers among all of our SmartWay Partners. They are redefining best practices for freight transport by reducing fuel costs and improving the public health of the communities they serve.”

Alliance Shippers Inc. began its participation in the SmartWay program in 2005 and was first certified in 2006. Since then, the company has consistently maintained this credential. In 2017, the company received their first Excellence Award from the EPA.

As a SmartWay Partner, Alliance Shippers Inc. has contributed to the collective savings of nearly $37 billion in fuel costs as well as the avoidance of over 134 million metric tons of air pollutant emissions. SmartWay Partners have also saved more than 280 million barrels of oil — the equivalent of eliminating the annual energy use in over 18 million homes.
