Alliance International Secures Latest ISO 9001 Certification
Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Alliance Shippers Inc., a leading provider of global logistics services, is pleased to announce that company division Alliance International has transitioned to the latest ISO 9001 standard.
The certification ensures that Alliance International consistently provides high-quality services that meet both customer and regulatory requirements, and its importance was realized early on.
In 1999, Ronald Lefcourt, co-founder and former president of Alliance Shippers Inc., set out to certify Alliance International — an admirable goal given the intricacies of international transportation. By 2000, the company became fully certified within the ISO 9000 family of standards.
Most recently, Alliance International made the transition to the latest iteration of the standard on Aug. 21, 2018, with a scope of registration that includes “Customhouse Brokerage and Freight Forwarder.”
“We are pleased to have kept up with our certifications over these past 18 years
and now stand as a fully-certified ISO 9001:2015 company,” said Frank De La Torre, Executive Vice President of Alliance International. “With this certification, not only does Alliance International hold processes and measurable standards for everything we do,” he explained, “but we’ve also fully incorporated this into our company culture to improve the well-being of our vendors and employees alike.”
Whereas previous ISO 9001 standards focused more on internal procedures that ensure consistency and quality, the new standard looks at the big picture and places emphasis on process and risk-based thinking. It also provides administrators with an efficient management system.
Alliance International expects to continue to follow many of its previously established procedures, but company leaders anticipate that the latest standard will help and support staff while improving customer satisfaction and relationships.
“We are proud of this accomplishment, honored to stand with our customers that share in this ISO certification, and eager to continue to build upon the synergies we’ve achieved together,” De La Torre added. “We also offer this same level of service to companies that have not yet ventured as far into this global initiative.”
