National Security Requirements — C-TPAT

The C-TPAT program is a joint initiative between the United States government and the members of the international trade community designed to better secure and facilitate the flow of goods into the United States while improving the strength and consistency of the international supply chain. 

The C-TPAT program requires brokers and NVOCC as well as importers and carriers to take steps to assess, improve, develop and communicate cargo security best practices that ensure tighter security throughout the entire international supply chain. In return, the goods and conveyances of those businesses participating in C-TPAT would receive expedited processing into the United States.
