Founded
in 1977, Alliance Shippers, Inc. was created with the idea
of maximizing use of the existing rail intermodal network
between the New York and Chicago markets. In that inaugural
year, Alliance Shippers, Inc. moved 3,500 units with gross
revenues of $3.9 million.
With
the 1983 government deregulation of intermodal traffic,
the stage was set for a well-planned and well-managed expansion
program, which continues to this day. Revenues for 2006
are expected to exceed $700 million. And we will move more
than 600,000 truckloads throughout North America this year.
Each
year, Alliance Shippers, Inc. continues to add new regional
and international offices dedicated to meeting the needs
of customers around the world via state-of-the-art rail,
highway, ocean and air transportation services.
